Botox Injections – Usage, Benefits & Side Effects

The Procedure and Recovery

The Botox procedure is quiet simple and shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes – the areas that will be injected are cleansed and the physician will most likely apply an anesthetic. Next, the Botox is injected into the desired areas in a typical pattern of four to five on both sides of the forehead and then two to three around the eyes. It is important to note that Botox injections are usually very tolerable, thanks in part to the small needle that is used.

As for recovery, the patient is instructed to not lay down for two to four hours after being injected. Results will be evident within three to 10 days but it may still be necessary for the patient to have additional Botox or other procedures to improve the appearance of non dynamic wrinkles.
